Basic pay ৳22,000. In Dhaka with HRA (৳9,900) + Medical (৳1,500) + Special Allowance (৳2,200), total monthly is ৳35,600. When the 9th Pay Scale takes effect from July 2026, Grade 9 new basic is expected to be approximately ৳44,000–50,000.

What is National Pay Scale 2015?
The 8th National Pay Scale of Bangladesh, effective from 1 July 2015, has 20 grades from minimum 8,250 BDT to maximum 78,000 BDT, published by the Ministry of Finance.

BCS Cadre (Grade 9) Salary 2025 — Full Breakdown
BCS cadre Grade 9 basic pay is ৳22,000. In Dhaka: House Rent Allowance ৳9,900 (45% of basic), Medical Allowance ৳1,500, FY2025-26 Special Allowance ৳2,200 (10% of basic). Total monthly: ৳35,600. Annual festival bonus (×2) ৳44,000, total annual income approximately ৳4,75,600.
An increment is applied every July 1st — the increment rate for Grade 9 is approximately 5%. After 5 years the basic pay reaches approximately ৳28,080 and the total monthly salary approximately ৳45,000. Pahela Boishakh allowance is paid every April at 20% of basic (৳4,400).
How are Bangladesh government salary allowances calculated?
House Rent Allowance: in Dhaka 55% of basic for Grade 10–20, 45% for Grade 1–9; other city corporations 45%; district and upazila 40%. Medical Allowance: ৳1,500/month for all grades. Education Allowance: ৳500/child/month, maximum 2 children.
FY2025-26 Special Allowance: 10% of basic for Grade 1–9, 15% for Grade 10–20 — added as inflation relief. Festival bonus is paid twice a year (Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha), each equal to one month's basic pay. Total annual income = (monthly salary × 12) + two bonuses + Pahela Boishakh allowance.
9th Pay Scale Bangladesh 2026 — Latest Update
The 9th Pay Commission submitted its report to the government on 21 January 2026. Proposal: minimum salary ৳20,000 to maximum ৳1,60,000 — an increase of 100% to 147%. However, as of July 2026 the gazette has not been published, so the 8th National Pay Scale 2015 remains in effect.
When the 9th Pay Scale takes effect, Grade 9 basic pay is expected to be approximately ৳44,000–50,000 based on the proposal.
