What is OCR and how does it work?
OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is the technology that converts printed or handwritten text in images or scans into digital, copyable text. This tool uses the Tesseract OCR engine to detect both Bangla (ben) and English (eng) languages.
You can copy text from scanned certificates, old documents, newspaper clippings, or any image. The better the image quality, the higher the OCR accuracy.
Which types of images give the best OCR results?
The best results come from photos taken in clear light, held straight (not angled). Black text on white background, minimum 300 DPI scan, and blur-free images are ideal. Handwritten text may have lower accuracy.
If an image is skewed, straighten the page before taking the photo. Scanning with CamScanner or Adobe Scan on mobile improves OCR accuracy.
