Verify ChallanWhat is a Treasury Challan (TR Form 6) and how do you submit it?
A Treasury Challan (TR Form 6) is the official form used in Bangladesh to deposit government fees, taxes, and duties at Sonali Bank or Bangladesh Bank. Fill in the correct challan code, deposit amount, and purpose, submit at the bank, and the bank gives a receipt that is used as proof for government purposes.
Many services can now be paid online via echallan.gov.bd or Teletalk SMS, without visiting a bank. Manual challan is completely stopped for income tax and VAT — these must be paid only via echallan.gov.bd. For services like police clearance, land registration, and motor vehicle tax, manual challan at Sonali Bank is still accepted.
How to pay online at echallan.gov.bd?
Go to echallan.gov.bd → choose the service type (passport/income tax/police) → enter your TIN or NID number → the fee appears automatically → pay via Sonali Bank, bKash, Nagad, or debit/credit card → download the challan receipt.
After payment, always download or screenshot the challan receipt as PDF — this is what you submit as proof for government purposes. For police clearance applications, take the echallan receipt to the police station. For passport, upload the receipt in the online application.
